Charles Jenkins & The Zhivagos

Just putting the final touches on the new Charles Jenkins & The Zhivagos album "The Diamond Light". It's a very different direction for Chucky from his previous work "The Blue Atlas".

It's dirty and rockin' and just plain rawkus. The album was produced by Justin Rudge (Austin Floyd, The Supporters, Wellyn) and mixed by the (in my opinion) the hottest new up and coming talent in his country.......Jez at Hothouse Studios St Kilda.

Sublime guitar antics were supplied by Davey Lane from You Am I fame.

The album is slated for release early October this year thru Dust Devil Music.

Big Haz

Just put the finishing touches on Melbourne producer & MC Big Haz's debut album entitled "Larger Than Life". He's enlisted the services of heavy hitting US rappers like Masta Ace, Triple Seis, Chino XL, Elzhi, Kozme, King T and Canibus. Local MC Lady Lash also appears on a couple of tracks.

The album is due to drop June/July 2010.

The 1st single is going to be the autobiographical "Be Someone".

The album was mixed at Hothouse Studios in Melbourne by Jez.

It's a stunning record that rivals the best hip hop going around.

Mark Opitz dropped in with his latest production a great new band named Brittle. Great catchy pop / rock and with a strong management team behind them including Jack Strom they will hopefully go places.

Just finished Ash Grunwald's new single "Walking" with album to be delivered here later today. The direction of this album looks like being a continuation from his last album which included electronic beats fused with his great roots / blues style we have all come to know and love.

A kewl little band called The Peep Tempel dropped in with their single "Telephone Static". A great little rocky band with heaps of energy.

Some new mixes from Kid Kenobi engineered by Klaus Hill have also passed through the iron and will be promoed as of later this evening.

Take it easy and remember that KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT MILAGE EQUALS BULLSHIT!!!!!

A really interesting album passed through yesterday by an artist called Junk aka Glen Lloyd. A really quirky mix of electronica and ambient music. This dood should be in the jingle business or doing soundtracks.....he's a real talent........

Antarctica

Mastering an exciting new album by a band called Antarctica. It consists of Nedd Jones of Wellyn fame along with Pete Spark, Joel Griffith and Pete Uhlenbruch. The 10 track album yet to be titled is expected to be released soon.

The album was co-produced by Melbourne's Finn Keane (Midnight Juggernauts, Sub Audible Hum and JJJ Unearthered winners Howl)

The single "Collapse" is about to be serviced and the guys are touring Europe in July.......check em' out.

Melbourne has got it goin' ON!!!!!!!!

Finally I have a few minutes to post some stuff about some awesome bands and news about them.

OK first off I have to tell you about an incredible band that I will be mastering in the near future called The Eternal.

These guys are a combination of many of my favorite bands..Lep Zep, QOTSA, Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Soundgarden etc

Jeff Martin from The Tea Party produced them and I reckon if they get signed they could be a massive export for us in Oz.

Congratulation to Howl http://www.myspace.com/thehowlmusic...... who now have 3 tracks from their debut EP added to JJJ regular rotation.......that's extraordinary and I have never heard of any band in recent times to achieve something like that.

Matt Van Schie has a new single coming out soon and I had the pleasure of mastering a couple of tunes for an upcoming 7" release.

The tracks were mixed by Rich Sanford (I'll get his web details up soon) who just recently worked on a track for The Michael Jackson foundation........no mean feat.

Rocked out with Guy & Nathan from We The Innocent today. Damn these guys are good and they have a 6trk EP on the way.

Slick production and great catchy tunes........heavy and melodic.

New mixes from Nick Galea, Kid Kenobi and Klaus Hill tomorrow.......really psyched for those!!!
